Hundreds of laundry owners and potential investors in the Mid-Atlantic region attended Equipment Marketers’ 24th annual trade show and service seminar, which was held May 4 at the company’s headquarters in Cherry Hill, N.J. In addition, more than 25 vendors were present, exhibiting equipment and an array of products for the commercial laundry industry.

According to Equipment Marketers’ survey results, laundry owners attended this event to see the newest commercial laundry models available, to network with other store operators, to attend the five business seminars being presented, to take advantage of limited-time equipment and parts sales, to receive service advice at the service seminars held throughout the day, and to ask questions of the technicians who were available for one-on-one training.

Of the laundry business seminars offered, some of the most popular topics were “How to Become a Better Laundry Operator,” presented by Brian Grell, executive vice president of Eastern Funding; “What is Your Laundromat Worth,” presented by John Culberson, a CPA from Bowman and Company, LLP; and “How to Negotiate the Best Lease for Your Commercial Property,” presented by commercial real estate attorney Edward Hovatter.

In addition, the show offered ideal opportunities to network with other successful laundry operators and industry experts, as well as great food and more than $10,000 worth of raffle prizes.

“The ‘introduction to the laundry industry’ seminar is great for anyone looking to get into the business,” said Equipment Marketers President Dick LaMaina. “Owning a self-service laundry is like a franchise without the franchise fees. Equipment Marketers can recommend equipment, store location and design, and facilitate financing. Our job is to make it easy to get into this business.”

The company’s next trade show and service seminar will be held on May 3, 2018.
