Maytag® Commercial Laundry High Efficiency (HE) Front-Load Washers Top the Cleaning Charts According to Test Results

World’s First ENERGY STAR® and CEE Tier III Qualified Commercial Laundry Washers Offer Superior Cleaning and Energy Performance

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (Dec. 4, 2008) - Maytag® Commercial Laundry High Efficiency (HE) Front-Load Washers cut utility costs up to 60 percent* and out clean the competition, according to recent lab tests. The tests, performed in an approved testing facility to the American Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) HLW1-2006 laundry industry standard, concluded that the washer achieves superior cleaning performance, while still providing outstanding energy savings. No other commercial single-load high-efficiency machine cleans better.

"The wash performance tests show Maytag Commercial Laundry’s dedication to providing users with the cleaning performance they deserve. By delivering superior cleaning and industry leading energy savings, these machines live up to the Maytag brand name of quality and dependability," said Craig Kirchner, director of global commercial laundry at Whirlpool Corporation.

The new front-load washer was launched in June to help coin store, multi-housing and small on-premise locations save on laundry utility costs, without compromising cleaning performance. As the world’s first commercial laundry single-load washers to be ENERGY STAR® and CEE Tier III qualified, owners can save even more energy and receive utility rebates.

Designed to offer an enhanced wash cycle through its TurboClean™ Wash System, the new washers also include reliability enrichments in such areas as the pump, shaft, seals and suspension. The large tub and door opening makes loading and unloading easy, while new bellows include a silver ion coating to reduce wear and microbial build-up. With no agitator, the washer holds substantially more laundry, including big and bulky items, such as bedspreads and blankets.

The washers use Maytag® Computer Trac® controls, which display a customer-friendly coin countdown and the estimated time remaining during the cycle.

The washers also use service-friendly Maytag® Accu Trac® advanced data management and auditing software. This software compiles specific machine and cycle information into accurate, easy-to-read reports to monitor all aspects of machine activity, from service needs to collection shortages to usage percentage of enhanced vend price cycles.

Maytag® Commercial Laundry Energy Advantage™ HE Washers and Dryers are now available in coin-drop, card reader-ready and on-premises models through authorized Maytag Commercial Laundry distributors or route operators.

Maytag Commercial Laundry products come standard with the Maytag® Extra-Protection Five-Year Limited Warranty and Maytag brand’s Built-To-Last™ features to guarantee dependable products.
