Equipment Marketers' 2007 Spring Service Seminar and Trade Show features the Maytag Dryer Energy Showdown

CHERRY HILL, New Jersey - Equipment Marketers had another successful Spring Service Seminar and Trade Show on May 3, 2007. This year's Spring Trade Show featured the Energy Showdown; a real-time, direct comparison of Maytag's stacked 30 lb. dryer with the competitor's equipment. The real-time test loads which were completed during the day demonstrated that the competitor's dryer used an average of 30.6% more gas than the Maytag dryer. This substantial gas savings can result in a customer increase in bottom line revenue of up to 86%! This demonstrated that, as a coin laundry owner who essentially "sells utilities," it certainly pays to use energy efficient equipment.

Bobby Drummond, Commercial Service Manager for Maytag, conducted the Service Seminar during the day and answered any questions from the attendees. Mr. Drummond covered common service repairs on a wide variety of commercial laundry equipment, both small and large. This interactive and personalized service training helps Equipment Marketers' customers to save money in their laundry operations by completing common repairs on their equipment. Also featured as part of the day's events was a Debit Card Service Seminar; this is an intensive training session for customers who are using Smart Card Systems in their laundry operations. This session instructed service personnel primarily from apartment complexes on how to service debit card equipment manufactured by ESD, Debitek and Greenwald Industries.

Laundry equipment and accessory suppliers were exhibiting to show their product and answer any questions from customers about their products and services. This year's attendees included Maytag/Whirlpool Commercial Laundry, American Dryer Corporation, Coin Laundry Association (CLA), Digi Matex, Engel's Insurance, ESD, First Preference Products, Greenwald Industries, NATCO, Norton Supply, Power Management Company, Standard ChangeMakers, U.S. Capital, and VendRite. Having these vendors on hand was a nice resource for the attendees of this year's trade show, in addition to the free promotional items provided from these vendors.

Prizes, prizes, prizes... There is never any shortage of prize-winning opportunities at Equipment Marketers' Trade Show and Service Seminar. Every attendee is entered in the Grand Prize Drawing for two Maytag Commercial High-Efficiency Front-Load Washers, one drawing in the morning and the other later in the afternoon. This year's lucky winners of these washers were C. Richard Tunney of Village Laundry in Mays Landing, NJ and Mario Incollingo of Salem Wash and Dry in Salem, NJ. Also, our special Early Bird registration drawings for free R & B Wire Laundry Carts were won by Ray Peters of Sixth Street Laundromat in Easton, PA and Don McMichael of V & S Laundromat in Stratford, NJ. All attendees also received a ticket to spin the Wheel of Fortune for a variety of prizes including Gift Certificates, travel alarm clocks and Maytag coffee mugs. The Door Prize drawing included some very nice gifts such as Maytag wall clocks and Equipment Marketers gym bags. The closest correct guess for the number of coin box keys in a glass jar yielded the winner a $50 cash prize.

Each spring, Equipment Marketers sponsors a Most Beautiful Maytag Coin Laundry contest for our customers. The winner of this contest receives a personally engraved plaque and an R & B Wire laundry cart filled with Maytag-branded items for their store, including a Maytag clock, rugs and a neon sign. This prize package is worth over $500! This year's winner is Tommy Chan of Tommy's Laundromat in Philadelphia, PA. His name will be added to the Equipment Marketers winner's plaque which is kept at the headquarters in Cherry Hill, NJ.

If that's not enough, let's not forget to mention the incredible food and snacks available at this event. Starting early in the day, the breakfast spread is available for the guests of the event throughout the morning. At lunch, an incredible spread of hoagies, wraps, gourmet sandwiches, salads, strombolis, fruit, vegetable & cheese trays and a wide array of various desserts. Also, our Taste of Philadelphia stand included the very popular snacks of Deitz & Watson hot dogs and Philadelphia Soft Pretzels.

The cost to attend this service seminar was $25 in advance ($35 at the door) and a voucher for $25 worth of equipment, parts or service was provided to all who attended. All attendees to the Service Seminar and Trade Show were given a free case of Tide® laundry detergent as part of their admission. Other incentives for early signup for this event included a chance in a special prize drawing, reserved front-row seating for the Service Seminar and a Gift Card good toward parts and service. Be sure and sign up early for the upcoming 2007 Fall Service Seminar to take advantage of these valuable benefits.
